Laws are made by politicians, not by God.
Don't give laws more credibility than they deserve.
It is our duty to obey the law, but not our duty or obligation to respect the law, and it is our right to change it.
Most people think of The Law as something sacred and a line in stone. Just saying 'It is The Law', and bringing up legal issues is very effective at ending discussion on any topic.
Laws are made by men, not by God. Lawmakers can be lobbied, influenced, and bought outright. Just because it is The Law, does not make it right or moral. There are plenty of unjust laws which exist solely to protect revenue and assets of the Deep State, or pamper to baseless beliefs of voters. A flimsy pretext can always be made up to justify an unjust law.
Compliant brain-dead corporate slave citizens use The Law as the last word. E.g. 'It is not only unsafe, it is also the law'. This implies that the law is more important than safety. The correct way to refer to it is 'It is not only the law, it is also unsafe'. This implies that safety is more important than the law. Compliant brain-dead corporate slave citizens and their masters have strong belief in 'The Law'.
Laws are most vigorously supported and respected by those who benefit from the status quo.
We have to obey all laws. But it should not stop us from trying to change unjust and outdated laws which serve to protect revenue and assets of the Deep State, or pamper to baseless beliefs of voters.
Unjust and outdated laws can be changed the same way they were put in place; by lobbying and influencing politicians.
