The more people's meaningless job involves mis-leading the public, the more excited they usually are.
When a job is genuinely serving the public, there is no need to say that you are excited about it.
Why are you so excited?
"I am so excited by the opportunity..."
"It is exciting..."
"A thrilling offer..."
The more people's meaningless job involves mis-leading the public, the more excited they usually are. When a job is genuinely serving the public, there is no need to say that you are excited about it.
Doctors, airline pilots, nurses, pharmacists, farmers, army men don't say they are 'excited' to serve you. In fact, it will be downright worrying if anyone at a public serving job says he is 'excited' to serve you.
Does the airline pilot on a flight announce "I am excited about flying you to the Caribbean today"? Does the army man say "I am excited about protecting our country"? Does your Doctor say he is excited to be operating on you?
On the other hand, government officials, corporate executives, Public Relations people, corporate HR managers, etc., are 'excited' and 'thrilled' for no reason.
The reason for it is that meaningless jobs and jobs that mis-lead the public require smiling faces and people with 'exciting' personality to distract from the empty and mis-leading nature of the job itself.
